WONDERSTATE

Wonderstate is an editorial magazine created for a university journalism publication, featuring written works, illustrations, and creative submissions from contributors across Japan and Brazil. The first volume, One Eye Open, explores the feeling of being present yet distant — observing life through a state of partial awareness and reflection.

As the editorial designer, I translated this theme into a cohesive visual system through typography, layout, and image composition. The challenge was balancing a wide range of personal stories and artistic styles while maintaining a unified identity throughout the publication.

Through intentional pacing, hierarchy, and visual storytelling, the final publication brings these different perspectives together while maintaining the reflective tone of One Eye Open.
